ALL LOTS ARE FULL.  CHECK THE SITE FOR UPDATES ON WORKSHOPS AND ACTIVITIES DURING THE DAY.  The USSF Tent City welcomes youth & young people ages 18-26 and bicyclists of all ages who are biking to Detroit in BikeIt! delegations. The Tent City will offer 10'x10' lots for those with their own tents, as well as individual sleeping spaces in the large youth tents. There will also be solar showers, porta-potties, wash stations, charging stations, bike parking, wireless internet and 24-hour security.

Detroit authorities were not receptive to camping and require extensive permits, so USSF organizers have restricted the tent city housing option to the Youth & Cyclist Tent. Unofficial options are available if you have local contacts, or you can visit the AMC/USSF message board to connect with local Detroiters offering yard space for camping. If you want to rent a bike, scroll to the end of www.ussf2010.org/tentcitycamping for the reservation information.

Housing Board

The AMC is sharing their housing and ride board with the USSF! Visit the message board to connect with local folks offering sublets, couchs, floors and yard space for camping.

Solidarity Housing

Sign up for USSF coordinated solidarity housing—limited spaces available!

USSF participants in need of low-cost housing options or who are looking for alternatives to hotels, we have a few options. Detroit logistics coordinators have arranged with local building, apartment owners and churches several basic sleeping options. Spaces are available on a limited basis, first come, first served! Note: these solidarity housing options require fees determined by owner-manager. Review the USSF Solidarity Housing page for available options and sign up information.

All solidarity housing participants are strongly encouraged to bring a sleeping bag, towel and toiletries!

Live in Detroit and want offer up housing for visitors? Heading to Detroit and looking for a homestay or ride? Check out the new AMC/USSF Message Board for housing & rideshare posts, courtesy of the Allied Media Conference. You must be registered for the AMC and/or USSF to have access to solidarity housing. Some locals are also offering “couch-surfing” options.

Rental Apartments

We have secured apartments for rent for 14 or 30 days at $15-20/per day per person. These spaces work well for families with children or organizations traveling together. Each apartment will have a stove and refrigerator and some have partial furnishings, so bring linen, sleeping bags, and toiletries, should you require such arrangements. Transportation to and from the Forum events will be arranged from some apartment sites. Check out available apartments at the Solidarity Housing page.

Homes for Rent or Purchase

We have identified vacant homes that groups may wish to rent or purchase and live in during the USSF. Check out theHouses for Rent page.
