SIGN UP FOR SOLIDARITY HOUSING--LIMITED SPACES AVAILABLE
USSF participants in need of low-cost housing options or who are looking for alternatives to hotels, we have a few options. Detroit logistics coordinators have arranged with local building, apartment owners and churches several basic sleeping options. Spaces are available on a limited basis, first come, first served! Note: these solidarity housing options require fees determined by owner-manager. Review the USSF Housing Needs webpage at http://ussf2010.org/housingneeds for currently available options and sign up information. All solidarity housing participants are strongly encouraged to bring a sleeping bag, towel and toiletries!

Pre-register and Prepay for Solidarity Housing
To register for one of these solidarity housing sites, please download the attached form at the bottom of this page and mail in your fees. All spaces are first come, first served! Payments must be made by money order or cashier check—-no personal checks accepted, do not mail cash. You must also be registered for the USSF to have access to this solidarity housing and apartment rentals.

Solidarity Housing and Apartment Check-In

For arrivals on Saturday, Sunday and Monday due to some changes in our shuttle availability, we are now encouraging folks to use the Shuttle Service call the transportation hotline at 313 768 4204 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              313 768 4204      end_of_the_skype_highlighting.The shuttle will bring you to designated downtown USSF location. The cost is $15. Once you arrive at the downtown area, you will be transported to your solidarity housing destination

For arrivals Tuesday 6/22 through Friday 6/25, come directly to Cobo Hall first to check in at the Solidarity Housing table near the information desk. (Shuttle service will be provided from Cobo Hall to your solidarity housing location.)

SMART Bus
For cheaper options, you can take the Route 125 SMART Bus from the Airport to (Downtown Detroit) Woodward Avenue and Fort Street. It is about 5-10 minutes walk to Cobo Hall.
If you are not able to walk the route, you can transfer to the DDOT Route 53 Woodward Bus from Woodward Avenue and to go directly to Cobo Hall. Transfer charge is $0.50

Solidarity Housing Registration Hours at Cobo Hall:
Tuesday 6/22: 8am-2:30pm, 5-8pm
Wednesday 6/23, Thursday 6/24, Friday 6/25: 8am-5pm

Arrivals after 8pm on any given day should contact the landlord directly to make arrangements to pick up keys.

Those who still owe a balance should report to Cobo Hall during the times posted above to make your payment.

All solidarity housing and apartment guests must be registered for the USSF and must sign a house rules agreement.
Very limited on-site solidarity housing registration may be available.

Group Solidarity Housing: Hague Building
* Capacity: 200 persons
* Sleeping accommodations: personal sleeping bags on floors and unpadded carpeting
* Permanent and temporary bathrooms and showers available
* Kitchen: sink and refrigerator, no stove or cooking
* Washer and dryer available for use.
* Disability access: yes, through garage door, no elevator
* Parking: yes, free in lot
* Meeting room available.
* Includes: electricity, water, trash service; no wifi.
* Sleeping dates available: Saturday, 6/19 through Sunday, 6/27 (out by Monday, 6/28)
* Smoking outside of building only.
* No alcohol, drugs or pets.
* On site food and drinks will be available for purchase at affordable costs.
* May need volunteers to move furniture.
* First come, first served!
* Cost: $20 for 4 days, per person. Additional days at same rate (no daily rate).

* Washer and dryer available for use.

* Parking: yes, free in unsecured lot
* Includes: electricity, water, trash service, and wifi.
* Sleeping dates available: Saturday, 6/19 through Sunday, 6/27; must leave before church starts early Sunday morning.
* Smoking outside of building only.
* No alcohol, drugs or pets.
* Must be able to live with in-house, friendly dog.
* Building access only during mornings and evenings, no late nights.
* Transportation: On your own, two bus lines to downtown Detroit are available across street.
* Must be respectful of church facilities and hosts.

* Capacity: minimum-maximum: 6-8 persons in two bedroom apts.
* Minimum stay: 4 days
* Dates available: Now, no ending date.

* Kitchen: Stove and refrigerator, no small appliances, cookware or dishes.
* Furniture: partial—1 table and 4 chairs, 4 twin beds
* Disability access: none (stairs, no elevator)

* Cost: Two bedrooms: $450 for 5 nights, $700 for 6-14 nights, $950 month
